Most of the time I don’t see myself as a typical artist, but when it comes to crazy dreams I fit the bill. Some of my dreams are fantastically unreal- of wildflowers the size of sky-scrapers, of mountain lions dancing, of birds talking. Sometimes the dreams occur when I slumber and sometimes when I am awake and sometimes I can’t tell the difference. Like art, dreams are about what life is and what it could be, and like the art I like best, my best dreams are full of mystery, beautiful places and promise.
I am one of the luckiest people on this planet Earth because I often wake up off the grid, in a 100 year old cabin surrounded by God’s art work: uncut forests, wild animals, unpolluted streams and unending, unpaved trails. Everywhere I look there awaits inspiration, and most days I allow at least a little to seep inside. God forgive me for the days that I don’t. God also forgive me for the days that I am too timid to follow the dreams given to me as I wander.
This website was inspired by a dream that many of us share, to keep Colorado wild and sacred. Breathing in the crisp Colorado beauty and imperfectly painting it has provided me with not just a living, but life, and I'd like to give a little back in hope that gifts from the Creator- our kids, our animals, trees, rivers and mountains- may be celebrated, respected and protected for years to come. I am not sure where this dream's leading, but I'd like to join the conservation conversation and will be donating a percentage of profits from this site toward protecting God's country and creatures.
I appreciate your comments, ideas and suggestions!
